The Fall 2009 Happening will be the weekend of November 6-8th at St. Andrew's Cathedral in Jackson.

The Happening Experience is a powerful weekend of renewal for young people in the Episcopal Church. Participants explore deeply what it means to believe in Jesus and to be part of the Body of Christ.
Through large and small group discussions, meaningful experiences of worship and prayer, new friendships, and laughter participants learn about the rich connection between faith and the challenges of daily life. There's also plenty of music, games, fun and great food!
Happening is for young people in 10th - 12th grades, and there is one small group for adults. Happening is open to all denominations. After you have attended a Happening weekend, you may apply to serve on the staff for other weekends. Beginning in the Fall of 2009, you may register to attend Happening Reunion , a retreat that runs concurrently with Happening at a nearby host parish.
The Happening Coordinators are the Reverend Annie Cumberland.
The Happening Spiritual Director is the Reverend Jeff Reich .
The Reunion co-coordinators positions are currently vacant.
Happening Staff are led by a "Rector" (usually a high school senior), and includes teenagers and adults who serve as gophers, cooks, small group leaders, and advisors. Several of the youth staff are asked to give a talk. Two priests serve as spiritual directors for the weekend. Happeners and staff are housed and fed at a host parish in the diocese.
The weekend ends with a festive closing Eucharist at 3:30 pm Sunday afternoon at the host parish. Parents, family, friends, former Happeners and parishioners are encouraged to attend this incredible service of celebration and hear Happeners and staff share their experience of the weekend.
